Welcome to
Kenwood CommonsThe Abbey at Kenwood Commons will transform the regal estate originally constructed in 1852 and later enlarged into one of the country’s most beautiful convents—into luxury residential condominiums, amenity and support space, indoor and outdoor recreation spaces, hiking and bike paths, playgrounds and dog parks, a world class spa, and a country club.
And while it is our goal to pamper our residents and members, and care for their every need—we also feel compelled to share this most special place not only with those lucky enough to live here—but with the entire community as well by bringing the Kenwood Arts & Cultural Center to Kenwood Commons.
Home of
The Arts & Cultural CenterThe Arts & Cultural Center is being built to house the Kenwood Artists-in-Residence Program where we invite world-class artists, sculptors, writers, chefs and scholars to Kenwood Commons for an 8 week complimentary stay where they are provided with studio space to create their art if they are fine artists or sculptors, a performance kitchen for the culinary arts, and quiet work space for our writers, poets and scholars.
And in return for 8 weeks at Kenwood Commons these artists leave behind a work of art which we display in our galleries or sculpture gardens, which are open to the public. And if they are scholars, writers or poets, they will present one lecture every week which is open to the public. The world-class culinary artists will present a signature dish in our performance kitchen, which is also open to the public. In addition The Arts & Cultural Center will offer classes in art, culture and wellness to all in the community.
As the project develops, after The Abbey is completed, we envision growing Kenwood Commons into a community by adding several hotels and restaurants offering wellness programs as well as luxury accommodations, and building additional housing at Kenwood Commons—from luxury for-sale housing, as well as rental apartments and workforce housing.
The Abbey at Kenwood Commons will seamlessly incorporate modern design and state of the art technology into the magnificent palatial estate, while maintaining the historic character that pays homage to the building’s legacy.

Our signature treatments are being developed to address guests’ increasing desire for simple, effective and authentic spa experiences, which can be extended to one’s home. Each of our aromatherapy-based products are being developed according to the oriental principles of five elements: wood, fire, earth, metal and water. Bringing together the purest plant and flower oils from east and west, the blends will reflect the unique balancing properties of each of the elements.
The Spa at Kenwood will be designed to evoke luxury, serenity, and elegant beauty. Each part of the Spa and its amenities will evoke the highest standards of design and Spa excellence.
